Greens Open - update

Greens, bar and toilets now open

In response to the latest phase 3 guidelines from the Scottish Government and subsequent guidelines from Bowls Scotland, the board has decided to extend the opening hours for play on the greens.

In addition, we are delighted to announce that the bar will also be open on certain days! Guidelines will be given as to seating arrangements, ordering of refreshments and payment for refreshments.

Toilets will be open on all bowling days.

Players/Members are permitted to access the club house for the following reasons ONLY:
  • To access the bar/lounge area
  • To access the toilets
  • To access First Aid
Access to locker area is NOT permitted and members must take their bowling equipment home with them after play.  If you need access to the locker room to get your bowls then this will be permitted ONCE ONLY and ONLY under the guidance of the marshal on duty. Please do not enter the locker room without first consulting with the marshal on duty.
These changes will come into effect from Tuesday, 21st July 2020.

The club will endeavour to provide a safe environment for members to enjoy a game of bowls and refreshments in the bar/lounge. However, it is imperative that members adhere to physical distancing and good hygiene measures at all times.

Hand sanitiser will be available at the club, but it is recommended that members bring their own hand sanitiser and to ensure that their bowling equipment is thoroughly sanitised prior to play. Mats and jacks will be sanitised prior to play by the marshal(s) on duty.

Only singles and pairs matches will be permitted until further notice. Given that current guidance stipulates a maximum of 24 people is permitted on the green during a single session, up to a maximum 6 rinks will be utilised.

Guidance with respect to placing of mats and jack placement will be given prior to play. However, it is requested that ONLY leads place mats and jacks and no other player should touch mats and jacks before, during or after play.

You are welcome to turn up and play, but, to avoid disappointment, it is advised that you call Stewart McKenzie in advance on 07722911647  or  01738624364 to make a booking. All members will be required to sign an indemnity form every time that they enter the club premises.  We are required to keep the contact details of all players/members who enter the club premises for contact tracing purposes so your cooperation in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Greens and clubhouse will be open as follows, commencing Tuesday 21st July (bar is not open on every day and this has been noted below);

  • Tuesday: (Bar NOT open)
    • First session 10:00
    • Second session 13:00
