Greens opening on 30th June 2020

Dear Member

It has been a long wait, but, after much deliberation, the Board has decided that West End Bowling Club will be opening their greens with effect 30th June 2020.

Initially, greens will only be open for play on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and on those days members will be able to book into one of the following sessions; 10:00 to 12:00, 13:00 to 15:00 or 18:00 to 20:00.

Rinks will be allocated 5 minutes before play on a similar basis to the "Hat Nights". However, there will be some variation in order to maximise the use of the available rinks given the maximum three household limit.

It is essential that the club and all members comply with the Scottish Government and Scottish Bowls guidance, with particular emphasis on the guidance around social distancing and general hygiene. 

Please note that there will be four rinks available in any one session and no more than three households, with a maximum of eight players playing on each rink.

Spectators will be allowed, but must follow strict physical distancing measures and they must disinfect benches, etc, after use.

Players in the shielded group are permitted to participate.

If any member shows any signs of Covid19 then THEY MUST NOT COME TO THE CLUB UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

No entry to the clubhouse will be permitted and, unfortunately, that includes the toilets.  Members wishing to get their bowling equipment from lockers in the clubhouse will be allowed access once only and one at a time.  If you do need to get your bowling equipment then please arrive at the club at lease 20 minutes prior to play so that this can be arranged in an organised fashion.

ONCE BOWLING EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM LOCKERS THEN YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED BACK INTO THE CLUBHOUSE.  ALL EQUIPMENT MUST BE TAKEN HOME WITH YOU.

Bowlers will be responsible for regularly cleaning their own equipment and it would be preferable if players could arrive at the club "ready to play", with minimal changing of shoes, clothing, etc around the greens.
